Marie-Josée Toutounji is a seasoned Medical Affairs leader based in Laval, Quebec, with over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. As Medical Director at BioMarin Canada, she leads strategic product launches in rare diseases, with a strong focus on patient impact.

Previously, she spent 18 years at Sanofi Canada where she held various roles, including Head of Medical for General Medicines, focusing in diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

A licensed pharmacist with advanced diplomas in drug development and management, Marie-Josée is still practicing part-time in community pharmacy to stay in touch with patients.

Outside of work, she’s a proud mom of two sporty teens, wife to a detective with the Montreal Police, and passionate about travel and fitness. Her life goal is simple yet powerful: to make a difference for patients.
